It is no secret that toys have changed over the last decade. With all the technological advances made by policy makers and toy manufacturers, the word “toy” meant something completely different than what he did to previous generations. Parents will recall when heard things like toys dolls, tea, non battery operated cars and trucks, trains and Lego. But their children will remember toys like Nintendo, X Box, Guitar Hero, Robot toys and remote cars, trucks and aircraft.

Granted, there have been some technological toys on the market ten years ago, but they fell far short of toys today! If the toy making trends are to continue on as they have been, I am sure that the next ten years will find us buying robots for our children who have the ability to convert to a small number of different kinds of toys.

Ten years ago, the top few toys on the market that the children were asking for toys like Furby, the Tickle Me Elmo, Tamagotchi, Beanie Babies and Teletubbies. There was nothing too technical about these types of toys, and all parents have understood them, and how they worked. (Except for Tamagotchi … some parents may have had some difficulty in understanding what the point of the five-mail was!) After that year, the next fads in toys were such as toys, Furby Baby and, believe it or not, The Yo Yo! The Yo Yo returned to the scene after being completely revamped and presented as the new and improved ProYo. Furby Baby is just as much success as the Furby from the year before, toy shops and made a good profit out of this interactive toy.

After these trends are more than toys, the television show, “Who Wants to be a Millionaire” hit the airwaves, and of course, the game was released before Christmas and was asked by many young people for that year . With this popular game has come a few toys that were far more advanced technologically than toys of Christmas past. An example of this kind of toy is the robotic pet. Everyone will agree that babies are too cute. I remember when I had my first child, I wanted to take pictures of babies all the time. And it was repeated a second time.

One of the many things that make their babies mignon is disarming innocence, not to mention the fact that they are totally dependent on you.

When we think of smile and cry, we feel an enormous emotional investment in these expressions. Babies are not like that.
